Heinz Bauert, the founder of Chalet Suisse in Ampang in May 1996, brought authentic Swiss cuisine and Alpine warmth to Kuala Lumpur. Since opening, the restaurant has become a local icon for genuine hospitality and Swiss culinary tradition.
After Heinz Bauert passed in 2015, Manfred J. Faehndrich continued the management of Chalet Suisse, preserving its spirit and tradition. In 2020, Manfred became the owner, ensuring the legacy of authentic Swiss hospitality and cuisine endures in Kuala Lumpur.
In 2025, Peter Wyss became the new owner, ushering in a new era as Chalet Suisse transitions to Chalet Swiss. Honoring tradition while preparing for the 30th anniversary, Peter brings a deeper Alpine touch—ensuring Chalet Swiss remains the home of authentic Swiss hospitality for years to come.
